Artur - Is the one on the right what you're looking for? Unfortunately it is the only photo I have of it and obviously it is incomplete. Otherwise I have no idea...never seen any other white uniform on a Tirailleurs Senegalais.

All the best,
Dan

Thanks for help, guys.
Daniel, yes, this is it. Good enough for me to paint my figure. Do you have any info about TS regiment (white uniform)? Where they fighted? Or anything?

Merry Christmas
Artur

y'a bon !!!!

... It's the Banania Man !!! :)

Don't know much about the uniforms though, sorry ;-) ; doesn't Métal Modèles have a very nice figure of a Tirailleur Senegalais in their WWI range ?

... Awesome figure Artur ! I feel tempted to buy one too.

As for the white uniform, I suppose that would be a tropical uniform for a colonial setting - this figure depicts a tirailleur on the western front in 1914 ...

Interesting subject, those french colonial troops in 1914; there were also Algerians, Chasseurs d'Afrique, etc, all very colourful uniforms.

I'll see if I can find some in white uniforms ...

Cheers,

Johan

hi Artur,
after a lot of search in my books and web site about the "troupes de marine"
nothing, nothing for the white uniforms !

On the west front in 1914 it was blue and after khaki (like on the pictures i've send you)
Two bataillons of TS in the 4e and 6e régiment mixte de marche.

Hi!
I've got some news from Dave (he painted the same figure):

"...This is a great figure and quite restrictive on the
uniforms that can be painted unless you are gonna do
some adjustments to the length of the jacket, as the
the jacket started as Dark Blue to match the Trousers
with yellow braiding down the legs and on the cuffs of
the jacket sleaves, this was the same design of
uniform that was used in the first few months of
Galipolli, it just went under a colour change to very
light of white trousers and light tan coloured
jacket. After a few months of this the uniform was
changed to all light Tan uniform with the same design..."

Something to read (from Osprey 286):

Thank you very much, guys, for your help!
So, "white" uniform on the our photos propably is from first months of Gallipoli.

Best regards
Artur
