Hi All,

I made this figure which was entered in an art small sculpture exhibition.
54mm.

Dear Dan, Steve and Marc,

Thanks for your kind comments. The batik patterns were all based on extant examples, and are oils painted onto sheet metal.

The tjondong dancer is poised dancing down a flight of rickety steps from a Hindu temple. She would be one of three girl dancers in the famous legong dance where the dancers enter a trance-like state.

The kebyar duduk dancer is a unique dance form where the dancer is seated all the time and has to undulate his body to the music.
