One thing i have wanted to know is if it is best to paint first or assemble then paint i have found pros and cons useing both methods and i would like to get peoples opinion on the matter. Please Help!!!
Thankyou
Have A Nice Day :)

Bobby, like you said, there are pro's and con's for each. It's up to you. Whatever you decide is fine I'm sure. Sometimes you will find yourself using both within one figure. The only wrong decision is to make no decision. ;)

Id say it depends on the figure. What has to be painted, can I do it when assembled or not and can I assemble it and hide the seems after being painted?

If I can, I put together the whole figure first, but often some parts are painted separatly and added after a good fit is ensured. Arms with shield being a typical thing.

Cheers

Hello Bobby and welcome to the planet. I agree with Jim, sometimes you may do both. I try to be able to paint all the detail that a figure has. Sometimes an arm, fastened into place will obscure detail so I peg the arm and do it seperetly and fasten later. Always dryfit the arm (in this case) to ensure a good fit. Sometimes even after a dry-fit there needs to be some filling (as in my Pirate Captain) then you have to carefully do the filling and later touch up. Using the Pirate Captain as an example, it is much easier to paint the arm detail where you can get to all of it by having it seperately than to try to paint it after it is fastened to the body. Same as the head.......it is mounted on a dowel rod where I can hold on to the rod and be able to paint it both easier and with more detail.
