Hi Brian you have managed to nudge me back onto painting mine that was meant to be finished for July 2016, any guidance on your oil mixes for the Khaki coat, Equipment and Flesh would be appreciated.
TERRY

I don't usually have a formula of my oil mixes, but i know i used raw umber, naples yellow deep, black. With this bust i just used stains and added bit by bit as i progressed, which would be done over a few days, as i painted another figure, switching from one to the other, which i find more relaxing and stress free (well not exactly stress free ) LOL. The flesh was a mixture of titanium white, yellow ochre and alazarin crimson, with a touch of blue added to grey the mix down.I used an undercoat of Humbrol sand 237 which will enhance the pallid effect.
I'm sorry i can't be more specific regarding my mixes,as i don't take notes.I just plod away until i get what i like.Doesn't always work.:ROFLMAO:

Hi Brian thanks for your help I know what you mean about mixes, I start every figure taking notes of colours until I get peeved off and then I tend to leave the colours on a plastic palette so that I can see what I mixed to get the colour and that becomes the colour references until the figure is done.
The above info and the picture of your finished Tommy will prove to be very helpful.
TERRY
