Teresa, of Nimex has done an article on Lilliput's home page on how to do the photo-etched shield designs. She has sent me a translated version and we are working it up into an article for the planet.

Thanks Guy, you can check the Nimix website for more tips on how to use it, I'm reading it now and it looks easy to use.

(the company is in Spain but they also have a english translation of their articles in the Workshop)

Thanks guys, I never even thought they made PE for this stuff, great, even used as templates I would think they would work great. Does Sentinel carry most everything "figure" ? I am slightly familiar with the company but never really checked into them.

Thanks again, Tony

Hi Tony,

Sentinel's main business is figures - check out his three web sites. If you THINK you MIGHT need it, Neil has it.

Also, Neil is a very nice gentleman and and a fellow painter. Neil is my main "fix" for all my painting needs, and I owe him a great debt since he taught me how to use oils. His location is even pretty close to you if you want to visit (call first!), though he vends at most of the main figure shows.

I have used PE stuff with pretty good success - both as glue-on heraldry and for tracing or making a paper sitck-on. I can't draw - hell I can barely write! - so I keep my ears tuned for any shortcuts. PE stuff is expensive, but it will last a long time.

Good luck!

Yeah thanks, I was interested in going to a class there at the shop but then they discountinued them. I'll have to stop at the shop one of these days. Yes I know the PE is expensive, I have used it alot on my armor, I think it would work great on shields and such.

Thanks Tony
