Hi All,
Here are a couple of 120mm mounted projects I have been working on for sometime, I have made some significant progress so thought I would share what I have done to date.

Excellent work...

Hi Smithy,
Thank you mate, I love mounted projects it's just making the tack and accoutraments that put me off sometimes. But I have them made and moulds done so if I get a few bits into a white metal mould as well then I'll be flying on future projects. The saddle and blanket are cast as a separate part to the horse also.
cheers
Richie

Hi Jim,
Thank you mate, how's thing's with you?
cheers
Richie

Hi Richie I'm OK thanks mate, struggling a bit to get over back surgery from a couple of months ago, got a few extra metal bits added!;)
I've not been painting much lately but hoping to get back to it soon and have something to post up here on PF, hope all's good with you
Cheers
Jim

Hi Richie

Great to see these progressing , both look great but I do like the irregular particularly the facial work

Do you cast the horses yourself ?

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to seeing more on these

Happy benchtime

Hi Nap,
Thank you, yes I have cast the horses. They are are cast fully with the exception of the head, that way there is no assembly on the body, mould slippage or filling to do.
cheers

Hi Brock
Thank you, no Durnford had a lame left arm an injury sustained at Bushman's Pass but I suppose I could easily make one using the top half of my Durnford standing figure. Cheers Richie

Hi All,
Some more progress on both mounted figures, I have tested the horse moulds and assembled a set of each. Still need to make a mould for Swinburn- Henry boot for the Irregular Horse Trooper and modify the base that is used on both. Total oversight on my part when I made the base I did not attach the horses hooves. Still need to sort out the moulds for all the metal horse accoutraments but both have moved on very well.
cheers

Hi Richie

Lovely update on both , like the Trooper especially but both will be a fine piece

If I may the trooper looks higher sitting in position on the saddle ....I know nothing about sculpting...or horse sitting !

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime
