My very first Troop 54 figure in my favourite scale, just as Stu is dropping the 54mm figures, oh well such is life.

This was a very enjoyable project, the figure is a joy to paint and the detail is exceptional, this always makes painting a lot easier. I used mostly Scale 75 colours, with the odd Vallejo or Reaper colours, the webbing was finished with an oil glaze to correct my over black rendition. He is mounted on a black painted Sovereign 2000 resin column base.

Thanks for looking, now onto the next project.

He looks great Simon. It is a lovely figure and you have really done it justice.
Rob many thanks for that, it was a joy to paint, I think it really makes a difference painting a well sculpted figure. That said I'm still going to carry on making my own so will have to try and emulate proper sculptors. Not going to stop buying great figures like this though, I picked up the same range Grenadier Guards officer in the Crimea at Bugle Call, looking forward to that one.

Again many thanks.

Awesome mate. Excellent work on the trousers. Fabric like that is harder than it looks! Great work on the details.
Onwards!

Mobo, Scott, Nigel, Rocco and Super Anto, thank you all very much so pleased you like it. It is a great kit and I thoroughly enjoyed painting it, glad I'm out of the painting slump I was in earlier this year.

Cheers Simon

Simon,
This turned out really nice. I wouldn't mind picking one of these figures up. I have a couple of Troop 54 figures and they are nice. I really like their range.
Rusty

Rusty, Gary thank you gentlemen much appreciated. Yes the range is nice and I have missed so many because they are limited issues.

Cheers Simon

Very nice Simon. I know exactly what you mean about the difference between painting a well sculpted piece and my own conversions.. must try harder myself.

Thank you, and yes it is always a pursuit of better results. I always say the best modeller in the world must be quite unhappy as there is nothing left to strive for,.
