Stormtroopers bust of a Trumpeter 8th Hussars, 3rd squadron, 7th Company in around 1812.

A joy to paint after the dettol bath.

I have shown the reds that I have used in the painting of the pelisse and shako. I have tried to give the shako a worn look.

I used No 2 as a base colour because I wanted a brighter red and then used No. 3 mixed with base coat for the first highlight then just No. 2 so on and so on till you get the colour pelisse you are after. Shadows are no. 5 and the deeper shadows with a little black mixed in and thats it.

I added some minor details to the ram rods and drilled out both ends of the trumpet, also drilled out the barrels of the pistols.

A lovely bust to paint, thanks to Stu from Stormtroopers.

This one was a pleasure to paint as you can See, thanks again.

Very well done Bob. I have been playing around with the Andrea red and green sets and I rather like them, and as Graham said you have to learn how to use them.

Nice one Bob:).

Very nice Bob, these colour sets can be very handy but still need to be used effectively which you have certainly done here (y)

Beautiful work and very nice paintjob

Thank you all for comments. Appreciated. As you can see I do like the red set. Looks like more paint sets to buy.....
Oh....I have the field grey set too so keep watching.
Regards to you all.

WOW! Very nice job Bob. Beautifully painted.

What the tool you are using to hold the bust?

Chris

Thank you Chris.
The tool is by a company called Rolson and is a hand clamp. Although I have removed the handle and replaced it with an egg cup so it will stand up on the bench.31VF6RB6PEL._SY400_.jpg
