Last week here in the Netherlands was a great project.
The commercial TV stations, and the not commercial stations did a great fundaction. The radio stations also a benefit.
Total amount at one day € 112.000.000,--
Maybe other countries can do the same.

There's going to be a nationally-broadcast telethon here in the USA on Jan.15. Half of Hollywood is scheduled to take part in it.

I totally missed this thread and have been posting the info on some Tsunami relief projects over in "news". Here is some info on two minaiture related projects going on right now:

In the period since the Tsunami disaster in South East Asia members of two forums have been working independently on two charity projects.

At the French forum Creafigs, http://www.creafigs.com/, members have made sculpts to create an unique limited edition set of figures. This includes nine figures of which eight are 28mm and one 54mm. The price is expected to be €25 and the set will be available through Fenryll near the end of February. Sculptors include professionals that have worked for many companies like Fenryll, Illiad, Rackham, Dragonrune, EM4, reaper and others. All profits will go to the Red cross.

The painted pre-production figures will be sold through Ebay, starting on the 8th of February. A new auction will start every two days.

The Cool mini of not forum members (http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/index.php) have taken a different approach. They are painting a GW Ogre army that will be auctioned through Ebay and profits will go to the Red cross. At this moment the figures for the army have been send to the participating painters which include winners of golden demons, slayer swords and other prices.

Hi Guys

It seems the early warning system that they put in over there had to work for the first time today, as there was another quake at 8.7 on the scale around the same area in Asia, here is hoping all was well and people were warned before things started to happen...

Seems they were warned and people are evacuating, but according to some news reports there is another tsunami expected within the next 24 hours.

Let's all hope that with the warning, there won't be any major casualites. So far it looks like 50 people have died.
