The most common question I get asked is whether I will produce German, Italian, Portugese or French troops.

The answer is that I would love to, however my agreement with Nino is to sculpt 6 figures per year. Due to the very diverse army of Britain and the Empire, the number of different regions where they saw action and the evolution of uniforms and kit it simply isn't possible to cover every nationality or troop type.

When we consider that the British army consisted of English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, Indian, West Indian, African and Chinese troops and support (as well as other nationalities) then you can see the sheer scale. Factor that over army, navy and air force, then factor in artillery, medical, cavalry and all the support then it's a huge challenge just to cover a fraction of those that served. Then consider the British fought in Europe, Gallipoli, Palestine, Egypt, Mepotomia, Salonika, East Africa amongst others and you can see the task in hand.

Therefore, my aim is to cover British and British Empire troops only. However, there may be points where other nationalities do come in to the series (I have rough plans for next year that include this) - but only when it is in context of interaction with British subjects.

I would like to get to 100 figures, the 2 figures to be released at Euro are figures 17 and 18, if I can achieve 6 masters per year from now it will be a further 13 years before I get to 100. I can easily produce 100 British subjects that are interesting, so if I begin producing other nationalities then I'm never going to achieve that.

I hope that helps explain the situation.

Appreciate you sharing your vision mate and may you be successful in bringing this to life!

I've just finished Sapper Martin, what an amazing account of a Tommy & opened up whole areas that I look forward to seeing you cover e.g that Italian front. Also mentioned Chinese troops, would be good to see these guys as well as Kiwi Miners & Maori Pioneers too :)

If I can help in anyway along this journey please sing out.

Mike
