I try to sculpt the sailor with the big flat fish (halibut) in his hand as a birthday-gift for a wellknown member here. It is just a start and I have change meanwhile a lot of things, but I have some trouble with the boots. I have attached a photo from the boots the sailor is wearing. I never have seen such a thing before and can´t find a better pictures. Perhaps here someone can help me. The picture with the sailors is showing the German U 54 in the year 1915 patrolling in the northsea

Ulrich - Great beginning! I still think the buttons on the coat are too big. Also suggest that you carve the folds in the pants a bit deeper.

I've never seen anything like those boots. Maybe some form of water-proof rubber boots or galoshes pulled over leather boots?

All the best,
Dan

Looking good!

Nearly ready

I have nearly finished my sailor for Roger. Only some cleanings and some corrections and then he will take his way to england.

Hope you like it a little bit

@ Seb. It is my birthday-present for Roger. Roger has choosen the picture and the sailor and I had tried to do my very best to make from that picture a figure.

So I hope that Roger will paint it.

@ Derek. I have seen pictures like that attached where you had to pay much more for the fish :D
