Fan of Buffalo Soldiers

Ken, I am "extremely" pleased with your bust of a Buffalo Soldier. I really liked your rendition! Can't wait to see you cast up!

Now how about a Plains Cavalryman or a Cavalry Scout? You eye for detail and attention to period would make these outstanding. Have you ever seen Son of the Morning Star movie?

All the Best, Terry Martin-Atlanta Miniature Figure Society

Steve, cheers mate much appreciated.
Richard I used 3/16th " steel ball bearings hence the glint in the eyes. many thanks.
Mark, appreciated and in answer to what's next, it's an Inuit woman with baby. Sorry mate no camo on this one. :)
Rick, many thanks, always appreciate your comments. I think my reason for shortening the back tie was that I didn't want to hide the brass end of the belt (don't know the correct name:) therefore giving more for the painter to go at. Well that's my excuse anyway. ;):p:D
Dan, much appreciated.
Terry, many thanks, I've never seen the film but have just googled it and it appears to be availiable in the UK, so I'll look out for it as the cavalry scout might be an interesting sculpt.

Cheers Ken

Bless You for that Ken ;) Having smooth and correct shaped eyes to work with makes life so much more easy for us painter types.

Why some sculptors still insist on trying the impossible, and use putty for that remains a small mystery.

Many thanks Richard but I'm afraid I'm as guilty as anyone regarding the above as I haven't added ball bearings to my next sculpt I've already started.
I will however practice more this technique as I am pleased how this one turned out.
Cheers Ken

Here's the finished pictures following comments and suggestions made, I added to his upper lip as suggested by Chippy and included the cross swords on his hat as suggested by Jose. Many thanks.

Cheers Ken

Lovely finish Ken, i think for me this is my favourite piece of yours so far, the face is just great. The more you use the ball bearings the more you will like them mate and as Richard mentioned it makes for a nicer surface for the painter when cast up.

All the best

Steve
