Hello, I am now distributing some of the kits produced by United Empire Miniatures. The first in the series is the 1/4 scale bust of Dante Alighieri sculpted by Jim Maddox. I now have some in stock ready to be shipped. Each new kit added to the imported section of my web site will be listed with a very special price for a limited time, so if you are interested do not miss the opportunity.

For any questions feel free to contact me at this email address: [email protected]

Thanks for looking

Hello Luca,
Congratulations on picking up this line of products. I have quite a few busts from UEM andf I really like their products. I don't have this bust yet but it's on my wish list. Great first choice for you to handle.
Best of luck.
Craig

Thanks Craig and thanks too to John Lea of UEM for giving me this opportunity and to the fellows from Planet who already picked up a copy of this kit. The few I still have in stock for that price will be on the Kiko's table at the next Fuengirola show (5-8 April).
Next in the series will be 2 historicals and other 2 pieces sculpted by Jim Maddox (Dracula and Batman). Jim Maddox is a well know sculptor above all in the States, comics fans already known the work he did for brands like Bowen design (just to mention one name), John has a lot of piece sculpted by Jim in his catalogue and I would like to have them for distribution here in Europe.

Excellent!
I have 2 of the Dracula busts (old man Dracula and young Dracula in armor), plus the Batman bust. Both Dracula's are great but that Batman is one of my all time favorite busts.
I've met John Lea several times and have found him to be a very nice and friendly guy to know and to deal with.
Again, best of luck to you,
Craig

Hey Craig, I am not Spanish and not a practising Catholic, but there is a thing which really charmes me of Spain, the "Troni" processions.

During the "Semana Santa" on every Spanish town in the south (well, almost in all Spain, but in the south more than in the rest) the "Cofradias" (confraternities) bring into the streets the statues of Christ and the Virgin Mary through a very heavy throne carried on the shoulder by the member of the confraternity. Seeing those huge statues and thrones carried out with a very typical step while playing an haunting music is a true experience you will never forget.

I know that the guys from Sevilla will not think the same... ;-) but in my opinion the "Troni" of Malaga are ones of the best. Take a look here or here.

Now I do not want to appear blasphemous, but every time I look at the face of the young Dracula in armour I cannot resist to think of "El Cristo de los Gitanos", one of the Christ statues carried out during the procession. "El Cristo de los Gitanos" is my preferred, is beautiful, guapisimo, and when I will get that bust I will keep a copy for me and do (transform) my own rendition of that Christ. The face sculpted by Maddox is the most appropriate for sure. Sorry for the digression but I love it.

I'm a fan of UEM and Jim Maddox too. I've done Batman and the Dragon and have a couple of other UEM pieces on my to do list. Of course Alan Ball has also done a lot of work for UEM. My current favorite is the demi lancer bust - nice piece of work.

John Lea is a great guy and it shows in his company. UEM produces top quality products at a resonable price, and the subject matter is always interesting and unique. Luca, I think you will be well served by representing this company.

Luca,
No worries about any offense, at least not from me. Depending on my mood and the attitude of the people I'm talking with, I consider myself either an agnostic or an athiest.
That said.... I had the same thoughts when I got my copy of the Dracula in armor. The face just struck me as looking a lot like the western ideal of Jesus. I think that you could do an excellent conversion with this piece. I'll look forward to seeing it :)
Craig
