Ultra cast Luftwaffe pilot

Hi Guys here is one of my latest figures he will go with a 1/32 scale Arado 234b which I am currently finishing off. Hope you like him?

Brilliant painting
just one remark (as always). I'm not happy that almost every german is depicted with the knight's cross. Like I said earlier, this is a fairly rare medal even among pilots. If this is an Arado pilot it seems very strange that he won the knight's cross. But I'm picking now

It is a nice figure, didn´t see it before.
I like the way you painted the leather but think that that model of trousers were blue. Maybe I´m mistaken.

Hello John and Diego,

Diego, the trousers for this figure should not be blue. The figure depicts the late war LEATHER flight suit used by the Luftwaffe. This was based on the earlier flight suit which consisted of trousers and pants in blue gray cloth. However, the leather suit did differ in some details and it is the leather version I have sculpted on the figure.

But, one thing is certain: the leather suit came in BLACK leather, not brown. The painted figure on the Ultracast package can be interpreted as brown because of the way it was painted. However, the actual suits were defintiely black.

Sorry John, but the color is incorrect as you have painted it.

Hi Mike
good to hear from the person who made the pattern. This is the first Ultra cast figure I have done and I have to say it is bloody excellent. I have also painted the figure you did for Paul Fisher which goes with the Sea Fury kit. Again the sculpting was first rate. As to the colour of this figure I am not too worried about him being brown or black as I enjoyed painting him, I was as you spotted following the kit photograph which is very definately painted brown
Anyway here for you to see is a photo of the RN Pilot you did for Paul with the model

Hope it meets with your approval? I added an extra rank bar to make him a Lt as Carmicheal was.

I noticed somethig strange at a first look but wasn´t sure what it was.
I didn´t know this sculpture is one of yours... very good work, Mike! (as usual)
