After fifty years in the hobby, I painted my very first WW2 German, a paratrooper of course:)! Young's SS Fallschirmjäger bust painted in oils as usual.

Excellent work, Pierre - particularly impressive for me are the camo painting of the smock (how difficult was it to do the raindrop pattern in oils?) & the highlights on the respirator bag. An outstanding paintjob.

Cracking job that Pierre from top to bottom. (y)

On this subject, I've always thought that this artwork would translate into a really cool vignette. It's beyond my scratching, sculpting and conversion skills though, regrettably!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Painting the raindrop pattern wasn't that difficult, using thinned W&N oils on a thoroughly dry layer. The pattern isn't as consistent as I wished for. Anything can be done in oils, there are no limits other than personal ones.

Cheers,
Pierre
