Hello Friends.
By far my most favourite model so far this year.
This is the Verlinden 120mm resin kit.
The figure is also Verlinden which I did a while back and removed from it's base to add a sense of scale to the cannon.
And thus this is everything I've done so far this year.
All the best Ralph.
PS.Thanks to keith(Tecumsea)for letting me have this at a great price.:)

I like the bronze effect on the barrel. What did you use on it, Ralph?

Steve(y)
Thanks Steve:).

For the barrel(all airbrushed) I started with a base of Tamiya X12.
I then used Alclad 2 Pale Gold and misted this on in a slightly patchy way.
To darken it down a bit I used Alclad2 Jet Exhaust and misted this on in a slightly patch way.
Continuing with Jet Exhaust I added more towards the front and rear of the barrel.
Hope this is of help.
Ralph.

Nice one Ralph, this and the MDP bust with the dragon are my favourites of the pieces you have shown us this week.

Well done buddy.

Paul.

Nice job on the vignette! The work on the cannon is fantastic, too. I have that Verlinden kit myself and I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours.

I really like what you've been doing with yourself in modelling, very creative work. Building a Verlinden kit like this is a job in itself. If the number of parts don't stop you, the resin smell will. All the stuff you've been doing with such a wide range looks great!

Bob
