Young's January release starts 2009 out with a beauty of a bust. This resin bust represents a USMC soldier at the battle of Iwojima in the Pacific in 1945. Packaged in Young's traditional black sturdy box with a clear plastic sleeve to keep the box closed.

This kit consists of 9 resin parts including the cigar for the soldier's mouth. Packaged between layers of foam with the small parts in a sealed baggie.

Above as everyone can see is a totally different head and face than we have seen before. The head fits cleanly down into the neck cavity after removing the casting block from the bottom of the neck.

Above we have the separately cast helmet which after the casting block is removed from the bottom rear fits like a glove onto the head.

Above you see the helmet dry-fitted onto the head after I removed the casting block.

Above we see the four different views of the chest section. The highly detailed dog tags as well as a spoon in his shirt pocket make this for an extremely detailed bust.

Above we have all three parts dry-fitted together. The casting block on the bottom of the neck had to be removed. Afterwards a perfect fit of all parts.

Conclusion:
An excellent kit from Young Miniatures with all parts fitting well that were tried. Only one casting seam which was at the back of the neck. Highly recommended.
