Vélites officer, supersculpey firm. I did it last year thanks to a lot of inspiration and advices from experienced members in our figurines club in Nantes. Actually it was my second attempt at sculpting ever, I tried reproduce a subject from magazine Figurines (thumbnail below). I had already the opportunity to get a lot of critics over the last year but as long as they are constructive and help improving they are always welcome.. in other words.. feel free to shoot yours

Ale

Hi Ale

Nice to see your sculpting , looks good , plume looks full and the eagle looks really good

If I may I think the medal looks too small for the sculpt

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Stay safe

Hi Nap, thanks ! Well just noticed from your other post of the veteran bust that I can clearly rely on you for any reference/advice around medals!

You show some good potential with the sculpting of this bust, you have tackled the face and details with nice clean results.
Well done.
Steve

Thanks everyone! I’d like to try again an historical subject, haven’t decided yet which in particular but I’ll share for sure the progress here and look forward your advice!

Second try and you did that????? You are mighty talented sculptor no doubt.Do not give up sculpting, you defintely got it!

Oda.

Pretty damn good for a second go at sculpting (y)

Plume in particular is fantastic (having struggled with them for a long time, what is your technique for making them?)

You have sculpted a very good piece. The face is great, the fur on the bearskin headdress is very well done, as the detail work.
To think about next time; the Bearskin headdress is a little too short from the eagle plate upwards. The epaulette fringe needs bulking out and the chords on the side of the bearskin do not hang right with the angle of his head, they are defying gravity.
This really is great work, I look forward to sculpt 3 :)
