Hi all

I am doing Dragons Nachtjager figures 6089
Now i use Vallejo paint
Does any one know of a colour cross reference for Gunze to Vallejo ?
Gunze is calling for the colors 303,24,27 and 74 for the SS-Leibermuster camo
The other uniform camo colors are 303,74,24 and 37
Helms covers 71,47 and 24

Are these colors right ?

Also wanted to do a poll on plastic figure priming I read in Realistic Military Figures book that plastic does not need priming ,but I find with Vallejo paint if you don't prime Vallejo will not stay on the figure.

lets hear from you guys prime or not to prime that is the question

Thanks ahead of time for help guys

I prime EVERYTHING - especially plastic. Even with proper preparation, I have had acrylics not adhere to bare plastic. Depending on the plastic, you may want to add a little diluted white glue to your priming coat for extra "tooth."

Sorry, but I can't help with your color question.

Hi Dave, if you're painting with Vallejo on plastic, resin or metal I would definitely prime any area that will be painted; a good primer will adhere to the surface much better than vinyl paints and the paint will then adhere to it better, so you'll have less to worry about with regard to removing colour when handling for assembly etc.

A good spray primer is your best bet in general, if you need to leave areas unprimed for any reason you'll either mask those or find a brush-on primer. Two thin coats is better than one thick coat.

Thanks guys yes i tryed useing Vallejo with out priming and was a realy bad thing to do (took the paint right off when i tryed to mount fig on diorama)

and no Tarok there site does not have a conversion for Gunze.

I'll just go by the old fashioned way mix till i get it right ;)
