Hi Planeteers,

Thanks for all the positive feedback on this upcoming figure. Mike has done an outstanding job on this figure. I just sent him 2 castings for painting. (He said he is going to display it at Chicago - so we'll see paint on it soon).

Ray,
This is the first of a 3 figure Colonial Militia at Valley Forge series. Mike is designing them to be separate or combined for a cool little vignette.

Taesung,
The parts breakdown is: 7 parts -1 piece full body (torso?) head to toe, 2 separate arms (shoulder to wrist), weapon with 2 hands sculpted on, hat, ammo pouch, and little fiddly bit scarf tails

As for release, this just might move up in the pipeline for late fall?!?

In the meantime keep watching our website. And, I'll post here too when it's ready.

regards,
Paul

OOPS, brain fart on my part...

Arms aren't separate (I was thinking of another figure I was just molding this morning) and I forgot the base.
So, parts breakdown is 6 parts as follows:
1 piece full body head to toe with arms,
weapon with 2 hands sculpted on, (that fit up into bottom of shirt sleeves).
hat, ammo pouch, and a little fiddly bit scarf tail
...and of course a small base.

Paul, if Mike is going to have the master on the table in Chicago, you HAVE to have castings ready for sale at your table that weekend, and more for mail orders. Further, if this is going to be a vignette, the others should be ready for Christmas sales, so folks can work on these for Atlanta, and certainly MFCA. You have World Expo next summer too. I know I'm biased toward all things AWI, but I think you've got a real winner here!
And not to get too far ahead of the pack here, but how cool would it be to have, as a companion piece, a set of Hessians on guard duty, warm, happy and full of Christmas dinner!
Ok, I'm back from my flight to fantasy land...
Anyway, this is all great news. Put me down for one of each, tell Mike to get the other two done asap, and get casting these beauties!!! Don

Paul, please don't think that I was trying to tell you how to run your business. Mark it down to the limitations of this medium - if we were conversing, my fan-boy comments would have been in context, believe me.
I respect what you do, and know that these occasional AWI subjects (like the excellent Anders Heintz piece from a couple years ago) are a departure from your usual subjects. I'm glad that you are willing to bring these pieces to market, and I intend to support your efforts.
Keep the updates coming on forums like this one, and when the castings are ready, you'll be hearing from me!
All the best, Don (one of the Hawaiian shirt guys...)

A response and an add from Mike himself here below.

I would like to, Pete! But I cant this year. I was laid off for almost half a year and got employment only late May. Which hopefully will turn to a permanent position but is at this moment its only as a consultant. So I hold my money tight until I know for sure.

Cheers
