Vanitas" is a digital sculpture that explores the themes of mortality and the fleeting nature of life. The miniature is an allegory to the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death.

The piece features a noble woman admiring herself in the mirror, with her face cut out to reveal a putrescent corpse emerging from within. The decaying figure reaches out, grasping the sides of the face, symbolizing the inescapable grasp of death.

Not my kind of stuff, but it looks like a good concept of what you mention. An interesting figure!

Death is the only certainty we all have in life...

Cheers!

My copy (no.20) arrived today, and very nice it is indeed. I'll post a review later, when I had a moment to process the pics. If you are tempted, but not sure, go for it. The casting is lovely, a very fine surface, almost like it's already primed. The surface detail of the dress is lovely.

I like this a lot, I've decided to concentrate my figure/bust painting on this kind of fantasy stuff, because it suits my painting style/technique. Not to mention my mind...
