It is with very sad news that I tell you all, that my very good friend David Ridley passed away on July 22nd 2008.
I was so sad , that words can not express how I felt when I received the news that David had died. David was only in his early 40s.
My deepest sympathy to David’s wife Louise and their children.
I had the very good privilege and opportunity to paint the box art for David’s wonderful 1/9th and 1/6th scale busts that he released through his company ,Forlorn Hope Miniatures. David was a very talented sculptor ,and yet was so humble about his talent. David will be so sadly missed . I am going to miss David alot,I had always looked forward in receiving an email from David with a photo of his latest sculpture.
“Rest in Peace my good friend.”

Deepest sympathy, John Belcher.

It is terribly sad news,John.
A very talented man.~He has left a great legacy in his excellent work.
My sympathy goes to his family, loved ones and to you John.

Dave was part of our small informal group here in Brisbane his passing has been felt deeply by all, and our thoughts and condolences go to Louise and their children.
Dave was a real gentleman and as John has said he was very humble about his wonderful gift and talent.
May he rest in peace
Alan

WOW, what a stunner, and what a shame. Our thoughts and condolences are definitely with his wife, kids and family. I own a couple of his pieces and they are real beauties! He left a huge footprint in this hobby with his tallent, hope he is sculpting right now in a better place.........

John,

My condolences to you and especially to Dave's family. What a tragic loss.

Alan Mackie gave me one of Dave's magnificent busts on my recent visit to Queensland and its a terrible pity to know we wont see more work coming from such a talented sculptor and such a great bloke. RIP Dave

Cheers

Very sad indeed to hear of Dave's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He will be missed by so many.
