Thanks for the great reference pics Nap, really appreciated. I had a quick look on Google last night. The badge on the bust has some raised detail around the motif as if it’s a border to the field on which the emblem is displayed if that makes sense.

I’ve managed to do a little bit more on this one this morning. I’ve done the hair and moustache and base coated the black band on the beret, the jumper and the blazer ready for oils. I’ve started on the shirt in oils but going to leave that to dry a little before going back to bring out the highs. I’ve mentioned previously that the face is a great piece of sculpting but as I undercoated the blazer it gave the chance to see the work that’s gone into making the medals, badges and poppy that are also fantastic in their own right. I’m glad that the beret colour is dulling down nicely and hope that the updated photos give an idea of how the colour scheme will hopefully come together.

The chap with the Legion d’Honneur & the tartan trousers has done his bit after WW2 as well - on the end of his medal bar he’s got the Police LS&GC for 22 years service, & what looks like the Regular Army LS&GC with the maroon ribbon just before it (16 years). God bless.

Good spot Chris, hadn’t noticed the Police LS&GC medal tagged on the end.
