That's interesting-I didn't know the Germans had any aiguillettes or lanyards of any kind worn on the left side. Adjutants wore one on the right, and the marksmanship lanyard was worn on the right side, as it still is today. What's the significance of the aiguillette this Schütztruppen officer is wearing?

Prost!

Both the figure and the bust are fantastic - there are way too few Imperial German army and Schutztruppe figures out there. Really tempted here...

Anything that you may want to know about German colonial uniforms, you'll find it here: German Colonial Uniforms, and the South-West African version depicted in the full figure above is covered here.

Cheers
Karl

Hi

Really good to see a release from Vice75 , classic and natural pose , full of character and nicely detailed

Good to see your continuing with a matching bust in 1/16th , wish there was a larger scale

Thanks for sharing and the fine artwork

Happy releasing

Nap

Very nicely posed and detailed figure. Interesting that the Germans turned the brim up on the right and the British and Commonwealth on the left.

Mike

I was told this was because of carrying the rifle at the slope. I don't know if it's true though. Did the Germans carry the rifle on the other shoulder? I just looked at Ben's picture above and the Askari(?) has his rifle on his left shoulder.
Scotty.
