Mike here again!
Kevin, Nap here on PF, asked about if this timbalier should be a black man... ?
Well, I thought so too for many years until recently, and with Ivo Predas help I found out through research that the timbaliers for the drgaoons of the guard were 2 white young men, our Victor being of them. The image of a black timbalier of this regiment being a late 19th century constuction/invention...
