Hi all,

Just finished this 54mm classic from Pegaso. This figure has a little bit of everything for the painter: metals, flesh, leather, blood, freehand design on the shield, etc, etc. A very enjoyable figure, highly recommended if you can find it. I used mostly acrylics. The bronze is printers inks mixed with oils. Thanks for looking!

Excellent in all aspects - love it. Agree that you have the blood just right - did you 'spatter' these or paint them with more control?
Cheers

I used a combination of spattering and more conventional painting techniques. It was my first time using the spattering method. I have to say, it felt like a huge risk to take my meticulously painted figure and start flicking paint on it, but I practiced the technique first to get the feel for it, and I'm happy with the results. I think it ends up looking more realistic.

Excellent painting with just the right amount of gore to set the scene.
That tiny spatter on the ground ties him completely to the setting.

Cheers,
Andrew
