The figures are ‘Viking Rus’ by Scale75.
This group is the last of my purchases at the El Greco shop to meet the paint brush.

The bases for the three figures were combined and then raised with a base of milliput since they looked rather thin.
The figures themselves were excellent castings which fitted together very well and allowed individual parts to be painted separately, and slotted together with no visible sign of the jointing.
Painting was mainly oils over enamels, but the long axe man’s trousers were painted with acrylics (Scalecolor Artist paints). Printers inks (mixed with oils where necessary) were used for the metallic areas.
They proved a fun group to paint.

Cheers,
Andrew

They look superb, lovely clean painting style and how you kept the trouser stripes that precise is beyond me, a really lovely little vignette.

Cheers Simon

A very well painted group, the leather effects are excellent and as Simon said, 'kudos' indeed for the work with the 'stripes'.

Thank you for your kind comments Simon.
However, I should have mentioned that the stripes are fully defined on the casting (except where the trousers fold over the boots). Consequently, it was more a 'painting by numbers' exercise rather than any freehand precision.:)

RE: stripes ... my reply to Simon (above) applies.:)

These look like magnificent sculpts and can imagine they were nice to paint. Great job on that paintjob; good colour choices and crisp painting!

OK but still very good, even with a guide they are very sharpe stripes.

Cheers Simon

That's a very nicely presented group Andrew, very colourful and I like the use of complementary colours throughout.

Gosh, you wouldn't want to mess with these guys.
Beautifully painted, like the colours on the stripey trousers.

The figures came as a set with individual bases that could slot together.
I rather liked the box art and tended to follow it generally.

Great looking scene, just the right pops of balanced colours.(y)
They should've brought their own longships instead of expecting a CalMac ferry to be on time. :)

Thank for looking and taking the time to comment Del.
I agree with your observation. They do look like a bunch of bored/angry travellers in a waiting room.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment Kevin.
As mentioned above, the colour choices tended to follow the box art.
