The shield pattern is authentic, according to the woman who stacks the shelves in my local One Stop convenience store.
It can easily be removed with an angle grinder

Not a problem then Pete, I'll let Mr Makita chat to it.
I read about using it on a superior sculpting forum,
I can send you the link if you think it would help.

Thanks Carl:)
I'm glad that you have cast your trained eye over this as all of my minutes of work could have been in vain.
I am a bit worried about re-casters though:nailbiting:

Did you re use the right leg ? Also the face just looks like every other Viking on the market I'm sadly disappointed I wasn't consulted over this with my vast knowledge of the subject gleaned from a Ladybird book 45 years ago. When will people learn ?

Steve

Sorry Steve.
The right leg was reworked from a jewellery box I made out of matches during my last term of confinement. As I have no jewels, it made sense.
I couldn't use the Ladyboy books, the pages were all stuck together.

I have no understanding of that last sentence.........

Steve
I'm sorry you are disappointed in my sculpt, I'm re-working it yet again after reading all of the comments on here
I am amazed at your new range! The finesse! How sublime!what wonderful realistic cloth texture!what lovely coreroy strides!
I for one will buy this figure!(y)

What's worrying Pete is that you had that image to hand mate

Steve

Don't be too surprised Steve. This pic was the centrefold of Pete's Ladyboy jazz mag.

Hi Pete,
The good news: I've managed to build a time machine with all that money I got for the kids, the house and the mint condition Showaddywaddy L.P.s. I've travelled back in time to the exact day your excellent first Viking sculpt was depicted and have taken an actual beard cutting after much blood letting and general bowel emptying.
The bad news: Since I became the worlds authority on Viking beards I am now so far up my own arse that I feel I am above sharing my vastly superior knowledge with anyone save my brethern "Anal"ysts who continually criticise other peoples work without actually submitting any of their own.

I'd like to take this moment to apologise and also to say I'm better than you.

Hope this helps.
Gells

P.S. For Sale: Acme Time Machine (slightly soiled) low milage high MOT. Will consider swapping for parallel universe conveyer belt or alternative dimension three wheeler. Common people also considered...but grudgingly.

I find that it's better to sculpt from photos of live models

Oh for Gods sake man!
That is a False beard! It's 1000000000th of a micrometer too long for the time period!
How could you....Jesus there's kids look at this forum.
Another blatant breach of this kind and the History Police will be a knocking at your door young man...you've had your warning.

Yours truly,

Newly appointed Viking Beard Ambassador Professor Grant Von Pighill-Smthye Gellatly the second, retired, Dso, Mbe, Obe and Run DMC.

Hope this helps

What started out as a genuine thread dedicated to the insane has degenerated into a thing of pure beauty!
I applaude all efforts to take this thread to new levels of cockamamie horsedung!
I value your input on my quest. My social worker thinks it helps me!
