Hi Guys

Well this is my first real post for a while as I have been a little under the weather, but I am on my way back now. This was finished for Euro, its a little conversion of the Alexandros Miniatures french rebel, converted to an Irish rebel from the Irish Uprising at Vinegar Hill 1798, so let me know what you think.

Hi Dave, glad to hear that you are feeling better, now I know why you wanted that barrel!
Lovely piece of work as always Dave with your usual touch of originality.

Best regards................Keith

Vinegar Hill: lovely presentation

Greetings Dave:

I am sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, but trust that period is
behind you. First of all, the photographs are very nice. The lighting of the
figure really fits the mood of those difficult times. Next, I see this as
another sparkling example of colour harmony. Even the reddish tint in his
hat band coordinates with the stripes in his sox. And the painting of the
barrel, etc. is complimented by the tones in the base and in the clothing of
the Irishman. Very well done.

Hi Guys

Thank you very much for the comments, they are very much appreciated.

Keith, your nearly right mate, this is the painting test piece for the 120mm figure that will include the barrels I was asking about, I am scratch building them ....... pics to follow soon

Dave

Dave, always admire your work.
This one is no exception...not after such a period.
You still have the feeling of painting figures and you are a master in doing that.

Hi Carl, thanks mate, the rope is just plain old twisted lead wire, twisted and wound around him before painting......

Dave

I Love your figure. Just some correction on the history. The battle of Vinegar Hill took place outide Enniscorthy in county Wexford on the 21st of June 1798. The British forces were led by General Lake who after defeating the rebles, allowed his troops to massacre the rebel wounded in a makeshift hospital.
