I recently saw this piece of equipment on Facebook and was wondering if any of you have tried it? I have used an Optivisor for decades and wondered whether this is an improvement or not? Thank you.

Not aware of the item you refer to, not being a face book devotee, nor would I even consider ordering anything on facebook unless researching as you are doing.

To date I have never heard any negatives concerning the optivisor of which I have two. There are cheaper alternatives but my advice would be stick to what you know.

Following advice on here I did upgade to a stronger lens on my optivisor and found it a big improvement in close up work.

I have one of these, and they come with a range of lens.
They also come with the option of an elastic headband or arms.
I had to remove the nose supports as they wouldn't fit over my glasses, that's the only issue I had with them.
The portable airbrush they sell is also good.

Purchased mine through Amazon, as I don't do FB either, or you can go direct to Neat & Handy.

I got myself that type of magnifier a couple of years ago, as a supplement to my Red Chinese knock-off Optivisor obtained at Historicon years ago. I got the magnifier through Facebook, too; the vendor does not maintain a website. He sells via his Facebook page.

I wanted a magnifier with more light focused along my line of sight to the work, and this one has a light built in, with the battery box at your forehead.

I found that I don't like that type of magnifier, myself. I find the weight uncomfortable on the bridge of my nose, and the additional light really didn't add as much as I expected it to add. I'll probably sell it at a club meeting.

Meanwhile, I found that cheap reading glasses from the pharmacy work well, and I hardly ever use the headband magnifier anymore.

Prost!
