Hello Gentlemen.

This is my latest. A conversion from a Pegaso figure. It depicts Georg Carl Von Döbeln, a famous Swedish Colonel at the battle of Jutas during the Swedish-Russian War 1808-1809.
Painted in acrylics.

Like it very much Lars, particularly the face and groundwork.

What's that band around his head? (I have no knowledge of this field so excuse me my possibly dumb question)...

Cheers,
Adrian

"As a lieutenant, Döbeln took part in Gustav III's Russian War and was shot in the head at the Battle of Porrassalmi. The wound did not heal properly and he was forced to wear a black silken bandanna for the rest of his life. During the operation he stayed awake and wrote about it while looking at the whole process with the help of a mirror."

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it.

As Janne explained Von Döbeln did undergo som rather nasty surgery. The whole operation took four days and left him with a lifelong headace but he carried the unmistakable black ribbon with pride. He always mentioned the Wound with capital letter. (And who wouldn't) it's Said that he just before being hit by the bullet, he urged his men to stand fast by telling them that the Russians were out of ammo and just firing pine cones. It's quite a remarkable person and there are many things to be told about him.

About the groundwork, it's quite simple. Just dirt from my flowerpots with some dried oregano as leafs and tiny roots as twigs and sticks. Everything painted with different Brown and yellow acrylics.

Regards Lars
