Hello,

I just purchased the Von Mackensen bust by SK Miniatures. It comes without paining instructions.

Now, I am no expert on WWI uniforms but there are a lot of black and white pics of Mackensen on the internet and that helps.

On the bust he is wearing field grey with a (light) brown busby (Otterhide). I know the coulours of his decorations and the epaulettes.

The one thing i dont know is what colour his shoulder cords (aguilettes) were. Looking at the pictures they look field grey too. But i am not sure.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks
Rossbach

I'm not familiar with the bust but I found this, don't know if it's of any help.
Carl.

Thanks Carl. That is indeed Von Mackensen in his younger years. The bust however depicts him later in life wearing WWI filedgrey. i have difficulties in determing the coulour of the shoulder cords.
