Update.........

the main webbing and the pack are about finished, might do a touch more but probably not.

started the shirt based with GW bleached bone ( looks like light sand ) shadows with AV 921 english uniform, i'm going back over the shading now to get smooth transitions and i'll highlight with AV 928 light flesh... then work out how to do sweat stains ... uhhh

:)

Marcel... cheers mate :)

Ken.... Thank you :)

Dan... thanks :)

Update.....

after a few sessions on the shirt i sorted out the sling for the rifle which i've done using a different base colour to imply it may not have been issued with the webbing ( and to add some variety :) )

have sorted the hair and done the stubble ( conte pastels ground down in water, it lets you make repairs )

i have now glued the body, arm, head and helmet together....

i have replaced the twisted and bendy bayonet blade with a scratched item ( and while i was at it replaced the barrel and the bit of metal that forms the cross piece, it looks a bit tighter )

:)

A. bit of plastic card cut to size

B. gutters on both sides, steel rule and an s shaped file, liguid poly and some fine emmery paper

C. black permanent marker so i can see what i've removed and keep it all balanced

D. the thing assembled

E. in place ( note the blade is low by about 1/4 of a mm .... GRRRRR )

Marc, again, some fantastic work here. A small question if I may. Are you planning any sweat soak around the collar of the shirt at his chest? I have to say the sweat on the under-arms is just genious, would love to see some on the chest as well. Just my wish, not to say it isn't great as is. Nice work!

Ok Mark,

[activate "Hobby Mega Rivet Counter Geek Voice", as done by Billy Connelly]
Oh Dear,
the blade is out of alignment by a millimeter.....
Wrong thread count on the canvas stitching painted onto the helmet strap,
Paint on helmet peeling off, tut tut.....
Sweating in uniform.....not regulation.....
sorry, but have to knock off at least 40 points for that, so no gold medal for you..
[ok, start being normal now- unless you are one of those Rivet Counting types:D:rolleyes:]

My My My,
good work mark, sweat staining looks good, it is all coming together now. The bayonet work up was good little mini SBS, thanks for sharing that.

all those little effects you are adding really do animate the bust.

Cheers

PS: If anyone who wandered in by mistake thinks I am having a go at Mark, this is classic commonwealth dry humour.

Hello, Mark.
Your work is amazing.
I liked an expression of a helmet, a mustache and sweat very much.
I think these tries are successful perfectly.
The skin tone and the feeling of a uniform are also very wonderful.

Mitsutaka

Hi Mark, I have loved watching your SBS. You have really put some work into this kit and it coming up nicely. The sweat stains are spot on, it deepens the colours in the shirt, adding more visual pleasure. the salt and pepper look to his stubble give him that older look. Great work
Ben
