Waffen Ss Warriors Bust - Step By Step

After a period of 24 hours,I started the DRYBRUSHING (HIGHLIGHTING) of the camo smock.

First of all,choice the aproprieted colors ( more lighter than the camouflage colors ).

Using aproprieted brushes ( wide flat ones ),dip it into a oil paint.Test on a clean soft paper,with a twisting motion :

A) If the brush leaves streaks it´s still to wet.

B) If it leaves blotches,the paint is too thick.

Using a pushing,twisting and jabbing motion,occasionally brushing,on the raised areas of the camo smock,taking care to avoid the recessed areas,you will notice the raised areas and move on to others.

Now detailing the Stg 39 grenade :

In the grenade head appears the following intructions :

"Vor Gebrauch
Sprengkapsel
Einsetzen"


In english :

"Before use insert the detonator".See this pic:




Now the bust :

1) ...with a white pencil I did the stencil showed before:




2) With a silver pencil I did the grenade chipping effects:




3)The job finished :




Some details in the webbing...With a white pencil I detailed the belts and straps doing some seams that appeared in several references:

Another steps:

1) The helmet treatment :

After the field grey enamel paint,it followed an application of :

-White washed ( Drybrushing with white enamel);

-Strategic chipping ( silver pencil );

-Semi-gloss varnish overal ( airbrushed );

-Filters application;

-Pin washing ( around rivets and studs )....See it :




2) In the water bottle cup was given the same treatment...:




3) ...and the Panzergrenadier is getting to see everything...:

Painting the MAUSER KARABINER 98B ( Kar 98b ) :


Over the brown enamel I apply a mixture of Burnt Sienna and Yellow Ochre oils, removing the excess afyer application...




...then,in determinate points were applied Raw Umber and Yellow Ochre...




...and,after 20 minutes ,I started blending to simulate a worn look...



...note that the black enamel paint was applied too...

...providing the pedestal for the bust...
