Ok, here's the poop. I've been looking for this figure for a few years now. Of the many people I've talked to say that they think they know of what piece I'm talking about. I don't know, because it was discontinued years before I ever considered taking up figure painting. It is of a Marine cleaning his gun with a Japanese flag. I believe it was suppose to be based in Tarawa. And I think he might have had a cigar clenched between his teeth and he was sitting. What scale it was, I have no idea. I've been told it might have been produced by Ravenswood (or Ravenwood) Studios. And that is all the information I have on it. If you have what I'm looking for and are willing to sell, please drop me an e-mail at [email protected] or leave me a message here. Even if you have more concrete information on this piece or a picture, I would be most grateful.
Thanks

What's the scale Kevin? I think I've seen pictures of that figure in a very old Mil-Mod. Ravenswood Studio sounds right. I guess you've tried ebay?

It was produced by Ravenswood Studio originally in metal and later in resin. I had one years ago when Ravenswood first came out but sold it to another figurepainter. I have been looking for their Crow Indian they came out with but have not seen either this one or the Marine in a long time. I will keep my eye out as I check ebay listings several times a day.

John, I have no idea what scale it was in. I just remember seeing it in a magazine or catalog many years ago, back when I would have never considered painting a figure. But now I have an idea of something I would like to do with it.

Thanks for the info Guy. And I appreciate the e-bay eyeball.

Kevin:
That is a 90mm-120mm figure by Ravenswood Studios. It's titled "Bring me (or on) More Japs!" I'll put my thinking cap on (it's a really big cap) and see if I can remember who might be producing it. Boomer Sooner!
