Hi Guys,
Well, here is the latest in "progress" shots of the War Hammer figure I started awhile back. I think I should have been a little more thoughtful in my dry brushing the metal onto the armor. To me, it seems as though I've lost a great deal of contrast between the shined areas and the dark areas. Sorry for the quality of the photos.
On this round, I added a bit of pastel chalk to give the look of slight oxdation in the corners of the armor, but it would seem that it didn't come out in the photo and in real life it looks as though I may have worked it into oblivion as well. I think also that I might try some black pastel in the very corners of the entire figure to maybe provide a little more contrast and help provide more of a demarcation of the detail such as the equipment belts and the armor,--his teeth. What do you guys think?
I think maybe once I apply a dull coat to the whole thing, it may help with the softening of the harsh edges in the color transitions.--right?
Take care
Steve
