I have based all my bods on single bases made using discs cut out of Ikea place matts. This was mainly because I wanted to be able to mix and match them as I wanted and I didn´t intend to have so many for wargaming, just a few for skirmish type fights.
The numbers have grown though and as I´ve recently started making a Burgundian army for Impetus rules I thought I should base all the others for the same rules..but this would have meant rebasing a couple of hundred bods and nags so I came up with this;
Materials....woodglue, thin wood sheet cut to size, sand and my favourite material...underfloor insulation foam!! :-D Cut holes in the foam and glue to the woodsheet. The holes here are for cavalry bases. Smear some woodglue over the top of the foam, turn upsidedown and press into some sand When all is dried..paint and decorate. Airfix Sherrif of Nottinham´s bods on the base. Not the most beautifull solution, the bases will need a bit of matching up, but a hell of a lot less work than re-basing tons of bods and nags. Also I can re-use the bases for other armies :-D Zvezda, Valdemar, Italeri, Revell and Airfix infantry bods based. A good one with this is that I can alter the position of them to make a defensive position like here.these are the first "experimental" bases. I will cut the next ones with a less "regimented" pattern and a bit closer together.
