Hello everyone :)

This Half figure was painted in oils over enamels in summer 2008 ... see here for a full build log of it.

Anyways spool forward to about a week ago, I'm looking through my display cabinet and decided it was time to strip this back and do it again!

easter sunday I spent 4 hours on the face with this result.....

still a fair bit to do on the face ( probably at least the same amount of time ) but I already prefer where this is going :)

This is just a side project for fun so updates will be infrequent

:)

Hi Mark,

Just double-checking: did you scratch build the cuppola? That's amazing!

If you can replicate tank parts like that for 1/9 scale, you are like a private jet owner among us, as in you can basically do whatever you want. I am so envious!

Michael

Carl ..... thank you :)

Michael .... alas no I did'nt make the cuppola! It was part of the kit, I added some gubbins to the periscopes and the vane sight! but thanks anyway :/

Mark i can remember that first build/paint of this figure almost two years ago now, i can definetely see a drastic improvement with the eyes of this second version, you have come a long way with your painting in that time and its been very enjoyable to see you progressing mate.

Steve(y)

Then you are really lucky, Mark. I never saw any distributor sell that kit from Warriors. Do you happen to know who would sell this kit?
Thanks!

Hi Mark

Can of imagined the difference in your painting skill between then and now, what a brilliant improvement, leaps and bounds mate.

Dave

Michael, Carl

The kit mentioned by Carl which is available from netmerchants.co.uk is slightly different – head (face) and binoculars.
It’s Warriors WA9056 whereas the one which is actually performed by Mark is Warriors WA9026.
It was available on eBay about a week ago and wasn't been sold - http://cgi.ebay.com/WARRIORS-1-9-Ge...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2eac044299

Warriors WA9056 is on eBay as well, but as Michael is living in UK it’s probably not worth to buy it from US. Just in case here is the link - - http://cgi.ebay.com/Warriors-German...IC&otn=20&po=&ps=63&clkid=9019784452880926932

Michael,
If you don't have any luck following up Artur's lead above, then you could try LSA Models in Brighton www.lsamodels.co.uk or tel: 01273 705420.
LSA used to be the main importers of Warriors kits into the UK, & had a huge stock. They may have some of Mark's figure left, I'd recommend phoning first to get a faster stock update.

That's a great start, I am just starting to paint figures again. Yours is something to aspire to.

Your facial coat is amazing.
I liked it very much.
I was a fan of warriors' figure, too.
However this manufacturer finds not to be taking out a new product these days.

Steve .....Thank you! I don't really like the idea of re-painting but this is such a nice piece and the finish was looking a bit rubbish after 2 years of practice :)

Mike ... Thanks :)

Michael ..... :) and cheers to Carl, Artur and Chris for the info on suppliers :)

John ... Thank you! :)

Ray ... Thanks again :)

Dave .... Thanks again :) And cheers for the chat at S&L .... :)

Rob .... Thanks for the kit and the comment ;)

Marcel ... Many thanks :)

Paul .... Thanks and your too kind :)

Pedro ... thank you! :)

Mitsutaka ..... Many thanks :)

I gotta admit that I lost my way a little with this paintjob and spent a couple of hours just pushing paint around without any idea of where I was going....

So I spent a bit of time on google looking at pictures of faces, close-ups of real people and not magazine or movie style .... Blotchy! thats what most mens faces are. Blotchy. and shiny and lots of reds and spots around noses and beardy bits ... Quite vile LOL!

Not there yet but I'm Okay with where this is going again

:)
