Figure is expertly cast in a dark gray resin.
There are some minor flash & casting lines which will need a sharp scalpel blade to remove.

Benoit captured Jean-Luc’s vision of a fully laden young Aussie preparing to move up to Fromelles & Pozières in 1916

Details added:
• .303 wire cutter attached (on or off?)
• Sandbags wrapped around GS shovel handle
• extra PH Hood pouches
• extra .303 cloth bandoliers
• unit options for shoulder badges recommend 53rd or sister battalions
• GS shovel based on Trenchworks 1916 Manual
• pockets laden with other bits
• sloppy slouch hat based on many portrait photos

Main body has deep securing slots & parts have long lugs to ensure strong fit.

Two heads are provided on arms sprue.
One for each type of headdress.
Plus an option of with or without neckerchief.



Two types of headgear - Trademark Aussie soft slouch & hessian covered Brodie. Both are well detailed on both sides. Size comparison with a Tommy’s 1:32 helmet.



Equipment is independently cast with left hand on rifle to ensure a natural clasp, note that pinky finger - Nice!
A thin sling reveals quality of casting.



Back pack, mess tin & shovel, with extra sandbags. Each infantryman often carried 2 or 3 bags to have handy for reinforcing a newly taken position.



All in all an outstanding kit - Highly Recommended

Jean-Luc at Wars & Peaces Miniatures is also developing a series of accessories sets to complement his figure range. We’ve done a lot of work researching these to get them accurate.
They are sculpted using traditional & 3D tools.

Two sets that would be useful for this figure are featured below.

First one is a set of British tools:
pick, shovel, entrenching tool & handle.



Second set are Combat Rations and the finesse of these are incredible. Look at those mugs one half full the other empty!

One sprue contains the ubiquitous biscuits tins with lids & hard tack army biscuits.

The other sprue has mess tins, one open & a length of wire to make handle. Another mess tin out of its canvas cover and spare water bottles. All could be easily adapted to show our “Aussie” brewing up before action.

Checking on the website I was a bit surprised at the price though (39 Euros) There are some cracking figures available though so I'm tempted even so . . . . . .

Worth every Euro Paul - trust me on this.
Jean-Luc puts his heart & soul into his products & we are all the better for it.
Will add other ANZAC soon too.

The whole line of these figures is exceptional, but the two recent offerings are great. Pity that the cost of postage from France to USA is so prohibitive (almost the same as the cost of the figures themselves). I guess in this case patience will have to be a virtue and I'll hope for further developments down the road making these affordable. Congrats anyway.

Fantastic figures, but for me the price is too high for this size.
The previous figures cost 30€, it is a right price.
39€ is the price of 2 TommysWar and the size is very close.
I'm waiting Black friday.

Yes Nap, the comparison is very useful!
Recently I bought some Legion Miniature 90mm and these figure are very close to 120mm.
The size declared sometimes are very different in the reality.

Good review Mike. I have just finished a Benoit Cauchies piece (JMD Prussian) and can confirm the quality of his sculpting. Price a tad high but as you say, worth the investment as it does look the business.

Jean-Luc is a sole owner, just establishing his brand.
This is challenging with so much choice nowadays.
The thoroughness of his design & research has to be seen to be believed. Quality of products & production is second to none.

He is exploring some global distributors at present too, so this may help.

Consider this an investment in some of the very best ANZACs available today…
