Washington DC area, July 2024 - Any Clubs etc

Hello guys,

I got to Washington DC area (more precisely Fairfax county, Va) last week and will stay here for professional purposes until the end of July. I have a car, so I can cover the area that is a radius of more or less 90 minutes driving from DC.
I would be happy, if possible, to meet PF members from the area, and to learn about regional shows, club meetings, and recommended hobby shops.

Hi, Benny, the National Capital Model Soldier Society is the first one that comes to mind. Their website is https://www.ncmssclub.org/. It looks like their next meeting is on the 24th. There are directions on their Meetings page at the website; they're held in Alexandria VA. I recommend them highly! If you use Facebook, they also have a page there.

There is also a Northern Virginia IPMS chapter, https://www.novaipms.org/, but their next meeting is also on the 24th. If you can visit the NCMSS, that is the one to choose.

David, you are ahead of me...

So many thanks to David and the members of NCMSS for their welcome and kindness. The meeting was interesting and it is great to see people dedicated to the this art and to their fellow miniaturists. They are also getting ready for some exciting events, and I wish I could stay to attend.
As someone who came from the other side of the ocean, It was nice to recognize many of the names they mentioned in their discussions - internet (this forum, podcasts, youtube, etc...) really made our world small.
Big thank you also to Bran (the Baron) who made the match.
