I have seen this diorama in Winchester a real master peice. along with the Museum its self. As a boy some 50 odd years ago I remember my dad taking me to Dover Castle and in the Keep was another diorama of Waterloo I remember I was captivated with it and we had to go to the castle a few weeks later to see the rest. I have returned in later years and alas it is no longer there and nobody seems ti know its whereabouts, I often think of it.

Tells you where it now in the article pic 3
The pristine model has now gone back on display under a new glass roof at the Royal Green Jackets Museum in Winchester, Hants, to mark the 200th anniversary of Waterloo

Steve,
I know this one is at Winchester, Its the one from Dover Castle I was wondering where it had gone. I did ask at the Green Jackets Museum if it was one and the same but they say its not

Perhaps it may have been the Sidborne Diorama which is now in the National Army Museum in London

I think that one at Dover went to the Royal Armouries at Leeds. I think it was the second smaller model by Captain Siborne, the bigger one being at the National Army Museum.
I saw the Winchester model earlier in the year, gives a good picture of all the elements of the battle - amazing they dusted all those 1/72 figures!
There is also a nice model of Hougoumont at the Coldstream Guards Museum in Coldstream that I got to see on holiday a few weeks back. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take pictures (odd and annoying as it was free entry to the museum so what was the problem).
Cheers
Mat
