Did you know that Tamiya paint acts as paint stripper on Citadel paint ?

No?

Neither did I

Go on, ask me how I just &@%!ing found out!

Yup that's right
I swear to Gods this damn figure of Lee and Traveler is cursed. I've never had so many problems with one damn model in my life!

Well, Tamiya paints are alcohol based paints. Some people use isopropyl-alcohol to strip Vallejo paints from their mini. I guess it just makes sense. that it also reacts with citadel paints.
It is just sad that you found that out in a bad experience. :(

If you're wedded to using both brands on the same model, would it help to seal the Citadel coats before applying the Tamiya paint, for example, with DullCote?

Prost!

Cheers Brad
Nope I'm not fanatical about it so I'll use another colour. It was more a desk plant/heads up warning kinda post

Citadel primer is not that touchy when it comes to isopropylalcohol, with an airbrush the Tamiyapaints might dry pretty quickly before any harm is done. Try isopropylalcohol with a brush on vallejopaints and you'll get some funny effects.
