That's turned out really well (although I'm sure the photos could be better.... 😉 ). The whole figure has come together superbly and the painting is vibrant and full of life. It's a great subject and you really did it justice. Another absolute belter!

Many thanks Nigel, yes the photos could be better, I've never been any good at photography. I learnt quite a bit with this figure which is good, just got to remember it all now!

Bran, Victor thank you gents, I really enjoyed this, had it's ups and downs but that's normal, well for me anyway.

Excellent work Simon! Hope your stay in The Lizard worked out - we've stayed in Cadgwith a couple of times and love that area.
Thank you Gary, yes it was a great W/E in the Lizard, I haven't been to Cadgwith Cove in many years. I won't drive down there, that's for the inhabitants and I can't make the walk from the top car park any more, which is a shame because it's a beautiful village.

In brief: lovely. Nicely sculpted, painted and rendered overall.
You've created a dandy. He looks the part, with a proper face and really nice tones.
There's never a fanfare when a figure gets finished; just a running out of things to do, and a period of finding faults in your own work.
But trust me: this is a really nice piece.
I do agree with that sentiment,

Another nice job, mate. Your use of the AK matte varnish is interesting in particular. I use it as well, it really is good stuff.
Thank you for the compliment, the AK stuff is brilliant, after Testors stopped producing their dull cote I was resigned to shiny figures, all hail AK Interactive.

I try to keep more than one project on the go so I can weather the despondency of completing something, it works to a point so long as I keep a lid on it and don't go wild.

Testor still makes DullCote, though the packaging, the label on the rattle can, and the color of the cap, have been changed. It's also available in jars for airbrushing. Here's the page at Testor's website: https://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/testors/lacquer-paint/top-coats-and-thinners

Now, I can't speak to availability outside the US, but we still have it in hobby shops here. I hope that helps!

Prost!
Brad
As far as I know it's not available in he UK anymore, that though is fine because I discovered AK Ultra Matt and the way I use it I get a matt finish all through the process. So I'm happy without it, though I was worried to start with.

Cheers Simon
