Hi Samson, I use a wet pallete for my Andrea & Vallejo acrylics & it's great! In the uk, Ken Bromley art supplies have a 6"x 8" tray with wet pallete paper. Top notch stuff & I would not use anything esle now!

Yes, a wet palette is definitely worth it. This is something you'd use for acrylics to increase the working time with the paint. There's no need to increase the working time for oil paints and you wouldn't add water to them anyway.
It's easy enough to make your own wet palette. I buy the wet palette paper and sponge from a local arts and crafts store and then a tupperware container. However you can use parchment paper and a sponge or even a wet paper towel to create your own.

WP is the way to go I use my Cobra Water Soluable Oils in mine !

Check out youtube as well Samson, thats where I learnt how to make one.I could not believe how long acrylics stay wet using one of these.

You can make one for nothing . Use an old ice cream tub lid , two sheets of kitchen paper towel fold over to the size of the lid and then soak that with water . Drain off all the water left in the lid and then cover with non stick baking paper . Press the baking paper down until it is damp and your ready to go . With this method you will need to dampen the kitchen paper towel every day but hey it's free .

I use this homemade version but with a small sandwich box with snap fast clips as well as a commercial one but never had cause to reset the towel , I keep mine in the fridge after each session

Paul, what is the name of the extender you use?.... I have mixed a little Vallejo retarder with the paint, but never tried adding it to the water.I'm interested to know which one you add to the water.

You can also use wet wipes in a plastic box, too, as long as they don't have lotion in them.

I use Winsor and Newton Blending medium which I add a tiny bit to my wet palette
