Hi

I've been in the US for almost three years now (I'm originally from the UK) and in that time have entered figure models in the local IPMS chapter competitions.

Can anybody recommend the best shows in the US for figure models? I'm based in Texas.

Thanks!

I'd say the biggest are MMSI's Chicago show and MFCA in May. I don't know where you are in Texas, but the Tulsa show is the first weekend in June. It's smalller than the other two mentioned, but it's very good and worth your time. If you're in the Dallas or Austin area, there are others that are regulars to the Tulsa show in the area.

Master Con, hosted by VLS (now part of MMD) will be held in Texas from now on (previoulsy in Mo). It was during the labor day weekend (1st weekend in Sept), but check with VLS's web site for more details. www.modelmecca.com

As for other shows, the Chicago show is a great one, and so is the Atlanta show.

Hi,

Sorry for the late post, but since you're in TX, the Tulsa Show, 1-2 June, is not to be missed. You can click on the HMSNEO link above for info. The show is great and the hospitality suite on Friday and Saturday evenings is great.

Cheers,

Glen

Hello ptax,
Welcome. I was originally from the UK many many years ago. Maureen and I will be at Mastercon this year and hope to see you there. It is a very friendly show. Look us up.
Cheers
John
