Mary I guess I'm a philistine on this site as I'm not one for researching correct uniform details, I rely very much on the box art. So box art that shows good back and front detailing is very high on my list, and the better the box art, the more likely I am to buy. I also love painting horses and as my daughter-in-law keeps horses I am able to get instant information, and a smack across the back of the head from her if the end result is not realistic!

Research is fine if you have the time and gumption to do it. Only if your prepared to be pointed out by some "expert" that the roman sandals on your figure weren't worn in 300b.c. aint my idea of fun.
Box art seals it for me...I think it helps sell the figure.

Box art also does it for me. If the art is very good then it makes me strive to reach the same height. Seil (when they were in business) used to enclose a four sided view colour print of the completed model and I thought that was very helpful to both painting and assembly.
Cheers
John
