Dear friends

I am just back to figure painting again and one thing is much fun as painting is shopping for figure.

Sure, as a serious painter ;P I should buy every figure I see good (as many as I can) BUT in the real world I got restricted by my dear wife, as I can buy as many but I also have to finish paint the previous one that I bought.

And I just got a quota of 1 or possibly 2 (hiding).

So I ask u guys, what have u bought recently, and are u happy with that figure

the last two month only these

What I have bought ? .... nothing :(

As I do not paint a lot I have decided to buy only figures that I would paint immediatly. It avoids me to increase the size of my (large) gray army. It is also a way to make some savings ^^

Over the last couple of month I have bought
Scale 75 Templar which I have primed, really nice casting and very cleaver in the way it is put together so it hides all the joint line.

Victory Miniatures Coldstream Guard Private Waterloo 1815 very finally sat model that I had a little difficulty to build, but that is more me than he kit. It is a mix of resin and metal bits and again very nicely detailed, he is part painted (after about 3 restarts  )

I just bought this Pegaso...I really want to try the conversion in the first Mr Black scale model book (although I don't have the parts to change the spear to a sword).
And like Marc, the Roman Vexillifer.

I just picked up Andrea's 90mm Roman Signifer (should arrive Friday) and last month I bought Historic Art's 70mm Crusader. I'll probably start the Roman in the next few months (once I finish the three figures I have in the works)... the Crusader will probably hang out in my grey army for a little while.

@Van Malderen Laurent - the way you do, it is really good - i cannot do it alone / LOL - i need my wife to help
nick - Victory Miniature, humm. never check them out, but again, Scale 75 seems quite catch everyone mind

I too have just re started my hobby after a 25 year break. That means I had to buy everything new, Brushes, paint, tools, assistance with failing eysight, lighting. Then came the figures. I bought a couple of Verlinden busts and a 120mm Verlinden figure because they were relatively cheap to start practising on. Then I got carried away and purchased a PiliPili figure and a couple of Carl Reid busts. I just hope that after investing all this money I can get back my old skills.

Stormtrooper's Dacian Warrior bust (Christmas pressie from my better half)(y)(y) , Art Girona Saragon, Beneito Uhlan trumpeter and Moz's British Trooper, NI bust (y) (y) and by default his new Crimean 11th Hussar. Probably another one in there somewhere...ah well!

Well let's see, I have'nt purchased any figures in quite some time, but recently there was a surge and I obtained several. The 'Old Fiddler', '7th Cavalry Trooper', 'The Buccaneer',and the 'Norse Blacksmith' all by Andrea. Knight's Models 'Green Beret' and Thunderbird Miniatures bust of 'The Buffalo Soldier'. I just ordered from France, Segom's 30mm flat of 'Napoleon Crossing the Alps' based on the famous painting by David. The one I had went to a collector this past weekend and my wife suggested I do another, this time to keep. Finally, I'm in correspondence with Miniatureart to get a copy of 'Normandy 1944'. A fresh squad to my grey platoon ;) !

Seems that lately I am purchasing from Pegaso and Maurice Corry Mins. Have recently purchased: Pegaso Officer of Empress Dragoons; MC Crimean Dragoon Guard and Guard Infantry; Thunderbird's bust of Young Winston.

My most recent purchase was an old Stadden SYW British ensign in 54mm. I'm converting him to a Hannoverian Fähnrich of the Hardenberg regiment, adding the company color. I haven't bought anything since February, though.

Prost!

In the last month I bought... Royalist Cavalier (ECW) and got the free 17th Lancer from Maurice both 75mm, a pegaso Russian Hussar 1812 in 54mm and 5 Bravo-6 Viet Nam 1/35 figures (to be followed by about 10 more and a
UH-1D chopper for a BIG diorama).
Shhhhh... don't tell Her Majesty or I'll end up painting in the bus shelter on the corner:unsure:

Just received from El Greco Miniatures last night, Scale 75 Julius Ceasar at Alesia figure. Can't wait to have a crack at that toga.

Also waiting on some Andrea 54mm figures from SK Miniatures; Marcus Antonius, Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus.

Yes folks, I've gone mad on Romans.

Although I have, compared to some of the planeteers, a small grey army of approx. 25 mini's, my wife is cool with it when I buy figures at the shows. She knows how much satisfaction I have from painting.
Buying mini's is part of the hobby. I know I'm a lucky basterd when it comes to how my wife reacts on this hobby and all the things that come with it.

I recently added these gems to my collection.
