Over the past couple of years the planet has been around we all shared with each other what Figures and releated items were left under the tree for us.

Here's mine:

PiliPili Yellow Moon and Little Moon
Verlinden Mamluk Bust
Pegaso Germanic Warrior
Book: The Art of Robert Griffing

Here's hoping everyone had some goodies left for them too.

I got two = SolModels 120mm Napoleonic Polish Lancer in 120mm (tip for anyone else thinking of this figure - looks as if they couldn't decide between a lancer and a senior officer - will get serious attention to the uniform before painting!); and PiliPili Saxon Thegn - this is a real cracker and will get my full attention when I've finished a couple of others.

Hope that everyone else got what they wanted!!

Merry X-mas everybody !

My wife surprised me with Pegaso's Germanic Warrior and the book "Alexander the Great" from Robin Lane Fox, a standard work about this conqueror.

My children added to this Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven" and Oliver Stone's "Alexander" DVD's.

Can't complain this year  !

Cash, DVD's (Most of the Star Wars movies, Phantom of the Opera, FOTR), one the Dragon Generation two sets, and Nemrod's Wounded GI and Medic D-Day. All this and I have a birthday in less than a week (y)

An Ott Light. Man what a difference!
DML's Tiger Late Prod. 3-1
A DVD of Pitch Black
Masterclass 54mm 38th Regiment of Foot 1759 figure
A ride in a B17 (which was given to me last month because of scheduling) :)

My wife wrapped up a half-dozen of my gray army and re-gifted them to me!
She said it would be nice if I actually painted them!
Imagine that!?

I got Bob Dylan's book Chronicles and the Cream Reunion concert DVD. :)

I know my age's showing but at least I can't complain. ;)

Q.
Sounds pretty damn good to me

DVDs and BOOKS....Ah....I thought we were just gonna talk about the hobby!
Getting these things in will not make my wife look like a Scrooge.
DVDs: A Christmas Carol ( the one with Alastair Sim in black and white....my fav' version ). The complete set of SERENITY.
Books: Forever Odd by Koontz, The Platypus of Doom by Cover, and Molto Agitato!
:)

I joyfully received Andrea miniatures 17th Lancer from the Crimea in 54mm. I already have the base colours down on it, and the face is half done! Apparently, I have another figure on the way from "the Sentinel" (back ordered?), so Christmas isn't quite over. :)

Not to be outdone in terms of literature, I got a book of WW I poems, a book of the "Worst Military Disasters in History", and a novel, "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John K. Toombs. Someday, someone is going to make this book into a movie and win an Oscar.

Hey Guys,

Hope we all had a good time. I got 2 figs, Seil Models Crown Prince Wilhelm and Latorres 30th Foot. Both lovely figures. Can't wait to start painting them. Other than that I got 6 books. Mostly on the First World War. Plenty to read!!!

a really beautifully sculpted figure

Also a book "How To Paint Like the Old Masters"
by Joseph Shepherd a great how to for working with oil paints
particularly on flats

also working out how to adapt the techniques to acrylics.....

2006 promises to be fun

Hope all had a great christmas

My son gave me a tube of WN Brown Madder oils (I had made note in the summer my large tube of Brown Madder Arliz was almost gone after close to 15 years of use).
He said he beat the bushes for the BMA but no one had it.....only BM. So my question is.............are they the same??? I can safely say I use BMA on just about every figure in one way or another so not a happy camper if it is no longer produced.

Also got a copy of Anne Browns fine book, Anatomy of Glory, from "She who must be obeyed" which was a real surprize.
