Brad (The Baron):

Sorry to say that Bert Dunken, Founder of the Dunken Company, is no longer with us. He passed about 5 years ago. His sweet wife Peggy passed a few years later.
Bert was a great guy and would help anyone he could.
I would like to think that I am keeping up his tradition. The Dunken Company has been doing this for over 50 years.
I will answer any questions about old (vintage) metal casting molds (I have hundreds in my collection).
I can also answer questions about vulcanized rubber casting molds.

my interest began probably about 1967 or around that time when I was given some airfix HO/OO soilder boxed sets, they were I believe the Japanese infantry and the US marines, from that point on all xmas and birthday presents together with pocket money went on these little men,to this day I am still fascinated by them, and I have so many happy childhood memories of them,it continued onto most things airfix, planes and ships.
I had a break in my late teenage years as you do,when you go from models to women, picked the hobby up again in the early 80s again with historex kits, then I discovered oil paints and the beautiful Napoleonic kits available, then went into dioramas but found space being a problem after building them, then went back to larger figures once my oil painting had improved, that was about 1988,ive now been painting 31 years on mostly figures and busts and im a dedeicated oils man,i think the term practice makes good,im still learning to this day with oils and what a great medium it is for miniature painting.
Not forgetting all the people ive met on my painting journey, some I class as very good friends today.
if it hadn't been for those little men,i doubt I would have taken this hobby path.
