Which Book?

I was wondering which is the best book for "techniques", Bill Horan's or Shep Paine's newest book? Not looking for just photos of completed figures, I'm looking for a step-by-step book. I already have a few others but would like some opinions.

I'd say get the Bill Horan Master Class book for techniques, or Shep's classic book "Building and painting scale figures".

how about the Andrea Press F.A.Q. book? I have never read it, but it looks interesting.

Danilo Cartacci's painting minatures, is a very good read.

Or any of the Osprey titles. Calvin Tan's SS or Jaume Ortiz Forns painting Luftwaffe figures.

Presume the new Shep Paine book you're referring to is this one?

Horan's Military Modelling Masterclass title and Shep's older book that Anders mentions are both worth having but if you had to have only one in the library I think Bill Horan's is the one to go with since the standard of the figures is higher. But they don't cover all the same territory if memory serves.

Have to agree...Bill Horan's is probably the best all round book. A second would be Danilo Cartucci's.
